This was a curbside find in 2004 IIRC...Gave it my aunt who just got a new flatscreen set and if I don't take the set it's getting thrown away. It's actually a Sears-branded Sanyo, which works well after I cleaned the pots and resoldered the sub-brightness pot that would make the brightness flutter. I suppose I could use a 1980's beater 19"...I got rid of most of mine.

Save it and give it to a person who needs it.

Sadly, I know hardly anyone who would even want it. Whatever, I think I'm going to make that call and save it just for the principle of the whole situation.

Sounds like a plan to me..It's paid for, & won't eat too much...

Those were good sets and I'd save it for my use or to either give it to someone else who could use it. No need in letting it go to the trash just yet.

I'm heading over to get the Sanyo today. It'll be put to good use; probably use it in the bedroom after I clean it up and whatnot.

I have a Sanyo made Sears console TV, and I know that these things are quality. I suggest saving it.

Oddly enough, mine's also from 1985.

I can tell you from experience that you're picking yourself up one fine TV.

Glad it's going to good use.

Well I have the set here. It works quite well. CRT is branded Sears but the EIA code 274 is for RCA. Just a light dusting and some greyscale adjustments to bring it back to new condition. It's an electronic tuned set with IR remote.

Glad you got it.

Yesterday, I passed on an early '80's 19" Sears/Sanyo color set in a metal cabinet. This one had rotary tuners. I probably could have gotten it for $20; but, I'm running out of "play money" and space.
