I was given this Funai set by a friend of my mom's who runs a flea market shop in town last week. We knew it didn't work and I thought it would be ripe for a few parts. I did get to take a look at it this morning. :D

The TV has a fried AC power section, due to the bad power supply design. It's running off of DC power.

But with the photos, how did that happen? Wouldn't the neck of the tube be broken if the CRT socket board snapped? :scratch2:

Pure dumb luck! Kinda looks like with that style socket it would take a little bit of leverage, and that board is pretty weak.

I did get a few decent caps out of it, some other parts, and the Samsung-made/Funai-branded tube will probably be used elsewhere. Otherwise, it would have been in some honeybucket in the near future.

Mr. Funai succeeded in being the lowest common denominator (correct me if this is wrong). :thmbsp:
