There is a Magnavox color combo on Ebay! $20 is the starting bid! Why do the TV sets always have to be too far away! I cannot tell if it is round or square. I just decided to post it here.

That looks like a nice high-end model. Maybe one of our members in CA can grab it.
I just spent 245.00 to have a rare Saba tv combo shipped almost 700 miles, That really isn't all that bad as it is door to door and the item is blanket wrapped and insured.
Their name is General Delivery and myself, Doug and Jim Murphy have used them with great success. (I believe it was Jim that originally told Doug about their services)
Just thought I would put that out there if anyone needs a set moved.

Check out this huge magnavox color combo on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/1973-VINTAGE-6028-MAGNAVOX-TV-STEREO-HI-FI-CONSOLE_W0QQitemZ250158684120QQihZ015QQcategoryZ73 374QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I don't think he's going to get even 1/10th of the $1250 asking price, but it is an interesting set with the remote control and power tuning on vhf and uhf, quadraphonic record player, and 8-track and all. I think by this time Magnavox went to the Astrosonic solid state stereo, but I wonder if the TV is ss or tube.

I saw that listing and got a good laugh at the price. I'm pretty sure the TV has tubes. I once found a cheaper color Maggie combo from the early '70's that had a tube TV with the rest being SS. That particular one had the cheapest looking record changer in it that I've ever seen.

I just actually read the listing and the TV is solid state.

Roundie auction canceled by eBay... I wonder if it will show up again?

that is a nice tv , however it just aint worth that kinda of money . I just picked up a 1967 combo which is similar to that one he has listed except mine has a nicer turntable and does not have 8-track . The problem is they are so big and heavy . It took three guys to get the combo into my cellar . The remote control units on these magnavox combos seem to be a problem that acts up often .

Oops; I just noticed that this thread started in April 2004... No wonder the eBay link (in the beginning of this thread) is dead!

On this second Magnavox: I think his wife said he needs to sell it, so he said "OK", and priced it that way.

The seller is a member of the forum. Nice guy too, only collects maggies in mint condition. I agree it is nice, but think it will take more than a very detailed explanation and scads of pictures to sell it for 1200 bucks. Heck, I have a mint 1969 Maggie combo with remote, and all the bells and whistles, except the 8-track, and had no luck finding it a home.
Finally gave up, decided to keep it, and am using it in my front room!

I want one of the upright combos. I prefer a 75-78 model. Just haven't seen any in my area.
