I always loved Jim Varney in those funny "Ernest" commercials, too bad he joined the ranks of heavy smokers in the sky. I was looking at much of his artistry last night and found one of my beloved GE PortaColors in this commercial.

Man, he shilled for a lot of different things! Good, clean fun.
That's one of them "Portacolor III's" as someone called them, the "AA" solid state chassis. A worthy succesor to the original, I would say.

He was very talented and performed Shakespear as well as other classical theater.
He did car dealer comercials in the DC area and they were very funny.
