View Full Version : What's the deal in Texas? andy 03-04-2008, 10:31 AM ... jmoliff 03-04-2008, 07:43 PM Welcome to Texas. I see a lot of TVs on the free part of CL, also Goodwill has a warehouse that's called Bluehanger you might want to check it out there are two locations. As far as the trash I cant help you with that as I don't live in Austin proper, I do think you have bulk pick up. eff peverett 03-04-2008, 09:20 PM Are you in Austin or one of the surrounding counties? Austin has quite different rules than the surrounding counties. I live in Hays county and do not know of a TV re-cycling program(although I have been looking for one). I do know of a local dump, but they will only take 1 or 2 TVs a month from a household(I would rather re-cycle). This limit is due to an accident a few years back on I35 where many Zenith CRTs(made in Mexico) were destroyed. They ended up in this dump without permission and a lawsuit occurred. peverett 03-04-2008, 09:52 PM If you like 1970s consoles, this one is about 50 northeast of Austin. I have the Sams, it is a hybrid. http://austin.craigslist.org/clt/569234158.html andy 03-06-2008, 02:15 PM ... abpeep 03-06-2008, 03:47 PM Maybe this will clear up a few things for you Austin Solid Waste Services (http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/sws/default.htm) I am in Hays County just south of Austin.
