Up until this current season (whatever "season" means in this context anymore), my son and I didn't miss an episode. Enjoyed the complexity, and even though it kind of felt like it was being invented as it went along, it was compelling viewing.

What I DIDN'T enjoy was the strange and varied time elapses between "seasons". Sometimes these seemed way too long. Finally decided that I wasn't going to support ABC's jacking me around anymore by trotting out the next segments willy nilly. The complexity of the plot lines is not compatible with this kind of scheduling.

I still think of it as a creative and unique show, but haven't bothered to watch it since. Funny thing, I don't miss it either. It just became too much effort . . .

I have to admit, the twists and filling in the back story is starting to be overwhelmed by the horrible dragging pace of this season.

I stand corrected. About 8 years ago the CBS and ABC affiliates here in Baltimore switched and I still make that mistake.

I've been following this thread for a while but haven't posted as I usually watch the show a few night after it's aired. I probably won't stay subscribed so I don't accidentally read something before I watch the show. Lost has been just that from time to time but I still watch it and think it's one of the more interesting shows on TV along with Heroes and Fringe.

Off topic: Any one watching Fringe the new version of the X-Files?

No, not yet. We'll probably watch it the same way we got into Lost. We missed the whole first season of Lost. I rented a DVD of a couple episodes at Blockbuster, then a couple more, then went to Best Buy and bought the whole season which we ended up watching as a marathon. So, when Fringe becomes available we'll probably buy the set. For now we are staying well away from it.

in case you hadn't heard...Sayid, in 70s Dharma-land on Island, shoots young Ben Linus.
neat moment when Dharma takes him to some guy ('Oldham') living in a teepee on the edge of the compound. "Who's Oldham?" asks Sayid. "He's our you" replies Sawyer. nice line. they have him tied up and take him there and Oldham comes out...with a sugar cube and an eye dropper. Sayid spills the beans, even calling Sawyer by name, and when he admints 'I'm from the future' the Dharma people roll their eyes and Oldham says "next time I'll use half a dropper"; they get the truth and don't believe it.
