When they start out with the premise of being idiotic, and they hit it right on the nose, they are just crappy movies. The WORST "films" are the ones with pretensions of greatness, where they are aiming for great pathos and stumble over their shoelaces. I hate the ones with great casts that go absolutely NOWHERE. Did anyone see "Falling in Love"? DeNiro and Streep. Can't miss, right? They had exactly zero chemistry. Shouldn't people who are having a torrid affair look like they care? It would have worked better if they had hated each other's guts. Shoulda ben called "Falling Asleep."

Gotta mention that college favorite, Luis Bunuel's surrealistic short "Un Chien Andalou." Not just because it's plotless and non-sensical, but also because it has the pretense to consider itself high art.

and picasso messed up the noses and dali couldn't paint a clock to save his life, and burroughs didn't know a damn thing about plot, and for that matter joyce didn't either, right?

Only two movies I couldn't get drunk enough to sit through again: "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" and "Napolean Dynamite". The fact that Jon Heder was one of the headliners in "Benchwarmers" was more than enough to keep it off my list. Are my theatric tastes too lofty??

Actually, we have. But I agree that it can't be stressed enough.

The description I heard about Catwoman is, "the movie that even Halle Berry in a catsuit couldn't save".

A friend came to stay a couple of nights with his 13 year old son. He brought "Jackass the Movie" with him.

That was the most tasteless thing that I have seen. It says volumes about a generation that could think it funny.

I would have told you that you couldn't pay me to watch people vomiting and shitting in a movie, but I watched it and didn't get paid.

I am as embarissed for me as I was for the 13 year old.

Speaking of tasteless, has anyone seen those "Faces of Death" movies? Supposedly film clips of people/animals dying in various gruesome ways? Are these scenes real/faked/some of both? I've only heard about them, but they sound pretty revolting.

"Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS" 1974
..I booked it into a college theater during my brief career as a motion picture theater film booker. This movie helps explain why that career was SO brief. Soft-core S/M movie filmed on the set of "Hogan's Heros".

"The Gospel" 2005
...my wife brought it home for all the Gospel musicians involved. Simply an embarassing film. Every shot must have been a take.

A most horrid and dreadful film....

1980's Forbidden Zone with Herve Villechaize. I caught some of it the other night on cable. What a silly movie. So utterly ridiculous I didn't know whether to laugh or take it seriously.

Frank Zappa meets Alice In Wonderland.

I've seen part of one I think. Used to be a popular thing with the invincible teenager crowd if you know what I mean.

Now its all on the internet, yay. As far as I know those scenes were real.
