here's one method I use when a crt hasn't seen juice in years...please critique as needed...

I usually run the set at full brightness and color with the contrast turned to 50% and let it run for a half an hour. This supposedly cleans the cathodes and allows them to emit more electrons. Seems to work.

My ctc97 has retrace on dvds and certain cable channels due to the VBI. Seems these models are more susceptible than others,
