Just finished watching it, thanks for the recommendation. Great movie, demystifies the final days of the Nazis and Hitler in particular. As soon as you mentioned the bunker I thought of the secretary, who gave a long interview back in the seventies for the World at War series from the BBC which I have on dvd. So I wasn't that surprised to see her at the beginning, although she had aged 30 years, which is always disconcerting to see to me. It's amazing how long lived some of these people are/were, like the band of brothers guys. It seems like people who survive such times and experiences often have a stronger hold on life than regular folks. Maybe they learn to live lean rather than fat... or something.

I've seen "Downfall" and it is an excellent film.

Got "Rataoullie" and "Fantastic Four: The Rise of the silver Surfer" for the weekend. FF was watchable, but this franchise is about the least compelling of the comic book movies.

I just saw the Golden Compass and thought it was very good. I would like to read the books now that I've seen the movie.

I just saw last nite I Am Legend...pretty good premise, but it still falls to the typical steretypical bad virus movie....

I think they could have taken this kind of movie into a different more introspective view of the other side of the coin......oh well, its well worth seeing anyway...

Jackie Chan's "Master with Cracked Fingers" kung fu DVD. The stupidest excuse for a movie I've ever seen.

LOL. Yeah, I'm averaging < 1 movie per year, and last year I begged out of a post Christmas eve dinner family get-together at a movie theatre downtown that was showing that pirate movie.

There are a couple of movies that I would like to see while still in the theaters (hopefully they're still showing): Across the Universe; Into the Wild (and Downfall sounds like an interesting rental - thanks for the tip Snade )

HAIRSPRAY. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The music and dancing are well done and John Travolta in fat-suit drag is a real hoot. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Got you beat. The last Movie I saw at a theater was one of the Rocky series. It was the one with out a number, just a name. Rocky. The last one I saw at home was A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott. good picture, fine acting.
