Well, I replaced the tube socket. I turned it on and I immediately saw smoke and was greeted by the smell of burnt resistor. I never secured the socket to the chassis frame, so I will later tonight. I'll check for any shorts I never heard any sound, so there must definately be a short.

I've been pulling my hair out with this set... One problem after another, but that's what makes it fun.
