mmmmhevery season I miss the first 4 till I get used to the always different daytime it starts
sometimes I guess the writers don't know any more how they started and I'm damn sure the don't know how it'll go on. But every season draws me into the story again.
I'm anyway one Season back to to you

remember Twin Peaks? This was getting a little bit too.... abstract in a way, but's been nothing compared to Lost

02/18 epi recap (spoilers!)
great opening--Jack awakes on The Island, drags hurley out of a pond and finds Kate washed up. dream? flashback? flashforward? "46 hours earlier..."

WE FOUND OUT...
The Pendulum Room was a Dharma project designed by an unidentified, extremely bright scientist and his team (barring time travel, not Faraday?). It utilizes some electromagnetic phenomenon to link with similar places on earth (Tunisia, North Pole...) On the wall is a picture of The Island listed as a US Army photo 1954 (Jughead test?) Mrs. Hawking uses the room (as did Dharma) to figure when/where The Island will be, and directs them to take a certain flight. The flight must be as close as possible to the Oceanic 815 flight, so all the O5 (Oceanic Five; the O6 minus Aaron) should be on the plane.
Locke's body is loaded on to replace Jack's father. Sayid appears, cuffed to an unidentified Law Enforcement Woman (replacing Kate's cuffed trip). End of epi; we know at least Jack, Kate and Hurley made it back.
Desmond delivers his message and insists he will have nothing more to do with The Island; Mrs. Hawking informs him 'The Island isn't finished with you'.
Ben disappears to run an errand and boards scratched, bruised and arm in cast.
Lapidus (now nicely groomed) is the pilot; seeing the O5 he observes 'We're not going to Guam, are we?'
Jack/Hurley/Kate are found by Jin, wearing a Dharma coverall and driving the van; his expression is less than welcoming.
questions;
*who/what convinced kate and Hurley to get on the plane?
*where's Aaron?
*what happened to Ben? he threatened to kill Penny (Widmore's daughter) in retaliation for Alex's (his adopted daughter) death (blamed on Widmore). Ben saw Desmond in the Pendulum room; did he track them down? did Violence ensue? If he did get Penny (hope not!) will Desmond go vendetta? might motivate him to go back to The...well, you know where.
*did Sayid willingly board or is he being extradited; if so by whom, for what crime?
*was Jin not happy to see them? didn't recognize them due to time changes? or just the camera didn't stay on him long enough?
*Where are Sayid and Sun? Ben?
*did the plane crash or were the O5 just zapped out?

like any good Lost episode, it asks as many questions as it answers...

Not one of the better episodes. I thought the return was "too simple" and Ms Hawking was acting like it was that TV program Weakest Link. I actually felt the way the return was handled was a "Jump The Shark" moment. I was waiting for Fonzie to go water skiing past Hurley. I hope hope this was just a blip and not a loss of creativity and direction.
I would assume Aaron is with his grandmother who was conviently in L.A. That would tie up that issue well.
Jin and his group(Sawyer,Juliet,Faraday) are working in Dharma as that is where they jumped to. Remember Faraday was seen in a Dharma work unit a few weeks back.
Sayid, Sun and Ben are probably in another loop. This is a way the entire long history of the Island can be revealed.
I can't imagine the plane actually crashed because it would be really inappropriate that all the other people would be killed for the sake of the returners.

Thanks,

I wish the damn thing would reach some kind of conclusion. It was OK when it started, but it really is flogging a dead horse now. Is it just a pension plan for the actors left in it?

I'm hoping the flight attendant survived on the island. She was cute.

They have a set number of shows to do until the conclusion which will be next season. They have actually written a finish to the show and are working backwards to fill in the missing history of the Island.

That VW bus was looking pretty shiny and new....

And what about the airline water bottle washing up a few episodes back. (same airline as the Guam plane)

I love the show, everything about it is absolute top notch... Pretty much every character evokes intense feelings... I more or less love every one them. And the ladies are the best part. My top three who I absolutely adore are Juliet #1, she's tough, brilliant, and dependable. Charlotte #2, her story I play into a much bigger picture with Faraday - Remember seeing him when the Dharma initiative reached the energy hotspot? That and she is just beautiful... And then Sun, she has always been a major part, from arriving with Jin in the very beginning, being attacked by Charlie... Her pregnancy, thinking that she lost Jin... Good stuff.

I think Sawyer is one of my favorites, Jack ruined everything and it is all his fault. I would follow Locke. Sayid is more badass than anyone ever. Could Hurley be any fatter? I miss Charlie. Desmond has got a whole world of hurt coming. Penny will will see him leave again. I've come around to feeling that Ben can be trusted, but I know that will change in the worst possible way. Kate is the worst, and she will never change... Everything she touches dies. - Now what did she do with Aaron? Michael deserved a fate worse than death.

Best Show ever, for me up there with Twin Peaks, I don't know if there are any Lynch or Peaks fans around?

Ben is totally incomprehensible to me. noble villain? murderous (anti-)hero? dishonorable deeds in an honorable cause?
I love Twin Peaks.

We'll revisit these comments in an episode or two.

My bet is that the way we'll describe the above then will be, 'Desmond is coming and boy is he pissed.'

Awesome episode.
I'm liking this season alot.

Given the nature of all the facts available, i'm intrigued as to how they are going to tie all of this together.
It's crazy.
It's cutting edge.
It's something different and new.
And......

the chicks aren't bad, either.

Regards,
John.

P.S. Kate.....has always been the hottest of them all.
