Beerfest. It's a guy flick, what can I say?

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, starring Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees. It's got to be one of the stupidest movies I have EVER watched.

The Last Legion

Waste of money. The pacing, content, and general story line were hardly worthy of a made for TV movie. Except made for TV movies have better special effects than the bad guys falling off the cliff scene. I kept expecting Christopher Lambert to show up in a role at some point, it was of such poor quality and type of story. Evidently, one cannot take most every favorite scene in a variety of films, set it to 460AD, and expect the result to be good. I think I finally gave up on the film when the movie tried to duplicate the Outlaw Josey Wales betrayal scene with mass fire arrow launchers in the covered wagons instead of Gatling guns.

Might be worth a cheap rental just for Aishwarya Rai, but her role in Blade II looked Oscar winning compared to that in this film.

Mr. Bean's Holiday.
My wife wanted to see it,so I went grudgingly.A few amusing scenes, but just so bland overall. If I ever saw this guy on the street,it would be Deathrace 2000 all over again.

Zodiac -- majorly meh. Just completely underwhelming. Shoulda been direct-to-video if it was anyone else besides Gyllenhal (?sp), Fincher, and/or Downey were doing it.

Norbit.

We had to watch the neighbors kids yesterday, and that was what they picked out at Blockbuster.

Funny at times, but the comedy was predictable, and seemed forced at times. However, a thumbs up to the make-up artists/effects crew, they did an outstanding job on making Eddie Murphy look like a big fat woman!

Worth a rental, maybe, but I sure am glad I didn't waste any money on it in the theater!

the glamorous life of sachiko hanai

this movie makes fun of -

men

women

NWO

porn films

private detectives

international spies

smart people

stupid people

and shoot em up films.

has some (low voltage) sex, and violence.

perhaps the best part, the end.

at the theatre, when the credits roll, most people got up and left.

after the credits, the rest of the movie was shown - no kiddin .

3:10 To Yuma

My wife and I saw this at a sneak preview last night.Fine acting, terrific action scenes, real characters-ambiguous,human.Every Western theme we all know and love done really, really well. The motivations of the two leads in the last third of the movie get a little fuzzy to me,but thats just a small complaint. If you like westerns, definetely check this one out.
BTW,its a remake of the 1957 film, with some of the same diologue.

High Fidelity - John Cusak's hifi and record collection in this movie is really cool! Soundtrack is awsome. The plot is good.

Watched "Pale Rider" last night on AMC. Terrific Western.

I know Clint must have made some bad movies, but I can't think of too many off hand.

The Quick and the Dead. Gene Hackman is a real bad-ass in this. Sharon Stone kinda ruined it for me though, even though she looked good! Also watched The Conversation with Gene Hackman and he has a cool mono tube hifi in his apartment!

Catch-22

The other night at around 4:00 a.m. the movie Catch-22 was on. I've seen it before and was just too tired to sit and watch it all the way through. Then I went on a two day binge to find a copy of it, I just had to watch it all the way through again. If you've never seen it I can only say it is a must see movie. The version I have has Mike Nichols commentary on it, it was funny to hear that at that time he had the 6th largest air force in the world. It is probably the last time that many B-25's flew together. The cast is list of superstars today all giving terrific performances, starring Alan Arkin, Martin Balsam, Richard Benjamin, Orson Welles, Art Garfunkel, Jon Voight, Anthony Perkins, Bob Newhart, Martin Sheen, Buck Henry. Not a word for word translation of the book by Joseph Heller, some parts are, others are Mike Nichols taking artistic liberties.

I just saw Mr. Bean's Holiday. I have to disagree with 2Duals, I loved it. I think it was alot more like the TV show than the 1st movie. I think it helps if you are a fan of Mr. Bean in the first place.

The Departed.

A bit long, but very intense. And you have to really pay attention to understand the complicated plot twists. But the acting is terrific--Nicholson, as always, is outstanding.
