Folks, I had forgotten that I had already posted an article/information for these little 9" B&W RCA sets back in 2012! Also here is a picture of my "REAL" prototype that never went into production that was meant for the 1972 model year. The difference was that it would be a solid state unit with doors on the front. This was the end for most B&W sets as RCA was eliminating production to focus on color units. Color units make more money than B&W and sales were way down. Turns out that this is the only surviving 9" prototype as the other five were destroyed!
