19" Magnavox color table set

My dad had got of the those Maggie's from a TV shop when he bought a truck load of broke sets. it was like 4 years old , but no time on it. It had no time because it was missing parts from the factory. I remember we had a junk set we pulled the parts out of I think it was parts from the Chroma circuit . we got it to play but did not look that great for a set that sat in a box for 4 years.

When I was a teenager, someone gave me a 19" Magnavox ex-motel set that used the T809 solid state upright modular chassis. When I got it, there were some fried parts on the regulator module and bad solder connections. Then, the four-lead safety capacitor shorted (common problem) and I fixed that. I watched that set for a few more years until it started giving more power supply problems. At that point, I'd had enough of it and junked it. The last T809 I fixed was about 10 years ago and it was a touch-tune set with a shorted safety capacitor. I couldn't find the correct part; so, I replaced it with a combination of HV "orange drop" capacitors to give me the correct value and I also had to solder some bad connections on the modules. My flea market friend sold the set for me and I guess it held up because the buyer didn't bring it back.

I also remember the similar T991 19" chassis with a bonded yoke CRT and there was an older SS chassis; but, I can't remember the number (T987, maybe). That one would develop bad solder connections that would kill both vertical and horizontal sweep, causing a spot to be burned into the middle of the CRT. I used to have a T979; which, I think was their first 25" solid state chassis. I played around with it and got a decent picture out of it; but, I ended up junking it because the cabinet was beat up and I didn't have room to store it. I think there was also a T989 solid state 25" set, as well as the T995 25" solid state chassis, and T815 solid state 25" chassis. In '84, Dad bought a slightly used 19" Magnavox from our TV repairman and it used either the 19C1 or C2 chassis (both basically the same). That set ran trouble-free for years, until the CRT got weak. I ended up selling it for $50 with a weak tube and the people who bought it thought it looked great (at that time, I was getting $75-$100+ for "good" 19" remote sets).

Yup! I need to get back to her. The Remote mech needs a lube and the HV reg is running too bright....Otherwise she seems to be a survivor.
