Some years back I had not visited the local Salvation Army in about 6 months. Something told me to go and check it out. Going in I saw all of the usual worthless stuff but they had a room in the center of the store and it was named "FINER THINGS" which is all they could name it with donated letters. Supposedly to have higher quality stuff and antiques, it was still a goofy place, like having a "new" abacus that they claimed to be 100 years old that still had its' original Pier 1 price tag on it for $2.99 but they wanted $75 for it and of course they claim to know more than you do and are the expert about everything antique!! Idiots!!

However; looking at the other end of the room was a black metal cabinet CTC11 with original stand in perfect like new condition for $150 which totally surprised me. It worked and that's probably what saved it from being thrown out as a non working set. Got it for $110 and they helped me load it that TUESDAY afternoon. Guess what?? The following SUNDAY the whole place burned down to the ground! Never would have thought that it could as it was a solid masonry construction that formerly was a Chevrolet dealership.

Well, if it wasn't for me...................................

Thats a pretty cool story.... Be sure to put it on paper and staple (or something) it to the inside of the set as running history of the thing as it passes from you to another owner some time in the future.....

That was a sad loss, that thrift store section was my favorite. That thrift store was never the same either after the fire.
