ok ill try that, and i lowered the contrast and its not to bad but it is an old set and i am greatful that it works as good as it does.

well i raised the agc and there it was so i backed it off a bit and it looks good. well maybe i did have it alittle to high.

with this rca ctc16x set i have that i had to sub the tube, if the damper tube is weak would this be a reason for not getting the 3 color lines up in the service mode and crt bias at max or could it only be the boost diode. this has a 3 position bias switch and its at max and the screen is really bright and clear, i guess i could say it does have a perfect picture. i forgot to add that the crt tests very good no shorts.

I doubt it. Usually if those tubes are weak the picture will shrink and pull in from the sides.
Check your DC voltages on the screen pots and make sure the boost is there. Also the bias switch could be bad. |

the bias switch has 3 positions and each one seems to work as i get a darker picture as i switch it to the other spots. ill check those voltages, i think around 6-700volts i think. thanks
