I'm thinking about altering this TV slightly to bring down the green a little bit. I noticed there was a resistor in line with the green on the tube socket board. The resistor is a 2200 ohm resistor (red, red, red, no 4th color band) Does anyone know if I can replace this resistor with something of higher resistance to dim the green down more?

I had two of these I should of kept both had great picture. Try to test crt if can, I've heard members hear frying a crt trying to rejuve. Sony trinis usually have graet lifespan. make sure no leaky caps in any video circuits. I recently got rid of an RCA someone restored, had a dim picture caused by a bad cap. Testing the crt would rule out crt, 35 y/o set, might be bad cap somewhere.
these sets working lasts for years, worth resotoring , very hardy design. Even so far as finding a donor crt from newer sony tv if compatible. I simply kept using sets til got something else, never needed service. A great trinitron picture can only be matched similair to a strong Zenith chromacolor picture.
