I bought and sold one of those sets several years ago. The crt was the same and it was dead. The location chart showed either a 19EYP22 or 470***. I used a 19EY for a replacement. The original one had a separate safety glass and was stamped NEC.

here are a couple of screen shots from the Maggie I have.
these were taken when I brought the set home.
as you can see it is a bit out of adjustment.
I have done nothing with this set since I brought it home. it has lived in a closet for over a year now.
as I once told sampson159, I wish that I had a Star Trek transporter - I would gladly beam this set to your workbench.

RobtWB, if you ever want to bring that set out milwaukee way I'd be willing to preform a complete adjustment of the purity, convergence, horizontal output current, vert linearity and height. Can't see mush else needing work on it.

Yep pretty much the same one..the UHF tuner dial has the 'bouncy' numbers (as you turn the knob) LOL.
..my bad about not posting better followup.i'm going to measure cathode current and finish convergence and i bet itll last a while seeing as it's a seemingly low-use set

Hey not sure if anyone is still tuned in to this one but
Spent most of my afternoon fixing up the u911.
1) external degausser after orienting the set east-west
2)removed both converg. and purity yokes and centered the deflection yoke.
(turns out that was what was wrong after all. I couldnt get perfect red purity before)
3)started from the beginning(worst setup ever, plus one frozen coil i almost destroyed)
4) now it's about 95percent done and looks pretty good for what it is. no glaring problems, ready for prime time.
and lastly, most importantly, 6JE6 cathode stabilized at about 190mA but the adjuster still has wide range. I chose this because the tube tested near new Gm and it seemed to be the sweetest spot of operation point.
pics later

Way to go! I know that my magnavox put out a good pic. The 23EGP22 can actually look quite good when properly aligned. It was a pain though. My hats off to you!
