nope it isnt. thats the digital convergence module. its on the physical circuit board itself. if it isnt on the convergence panel, its going to be in the power supply module. its clearly marked Z905.

Shit! I turned the TV on, and smoke started coming out of the back...

I'm giving up on this TV. When it starts smoking, that's my cue to scrap it.

Hey, before I junk this TV, should I save the CRT's that are in it? Would they be compatable with other big screen TV's from the 1997-98 timeframe?

i would definately save those CRTs. i had one of those mitsus the other day with a vertical line burnin, and the woman threw it away because i didnt have any CRTs for it :-(

I passed up one Hitachi and one Mitsubishi Projection sets last night when trash-picking. The Hitachi was an HD set.

No interest in these though. But yeah, people toss damn nice TVs around here too! If they weren't so massive I'd save a couple.

Seems like a shame to be crushing all of these modern sets. These were probably less than 8 years old.

Did find a little late 70s Goldstar portable color, but thats nothing to write home about, lol.
