There were some WEIRD sets made in the early 80s to be used as TVs and also as computer monitors. The most widely recognized is probably the Sony Profeel series (KX-1901/KX-2501 & other sizes). RCA also had a line of 15 & 19 inch sets with all the analog RGB inputs, and Toshiba had one too. Magnavox had one that actually had a built-in Odyssey game!
That GE is weird indeed! I agree that it's incredible to see one with a mechanical tuner.
