You got it! The guy I got my recent sets from took all the yokes to the scrap man for money. A real shame! Hello! RCA 2000!

That set you picked up is the "adair" from 1966, should have something like a ctc19a in it. No big deal that the yoke is gone, ive got parts for those, including a yoke! If you could take a pic of the front of the set id appriciate it. Inside looks pretty decent considering how long it was outside with the back facing up!
Id really be interested in restoring that set. That chassis series is very tough to find and are my favorites (the ctc19+ctc27). Just curious how good the front looks. Thanks for picking it up!

Polaraman, your set looks like a ctc53. It also looks like a ctc55, however you can tell the difference by the sound module sockets. If there are two independent sockets its a ctc55, if the module plugs into just one socket its a ctc53. I think that set is a 72, possibly 73.

I will shoot some pics this evening after work. The paint is coming off the top of the aluminum bezel above the picture tube and it's missing the center piece of the channel changing knob. The outer knob ring is there, along with the two smaller knobs below.

Too bad the scrappers got to those yokes. That is a BIG problem here also.
If you don't grab the tv quickly nowadays stuff turns up missing!
With scrap being at an all time high due to China's insatiable industrial demand we will be seeing a lot of that.
Heck, If a house stays empty too long around here the fools will strip all the copper plumbing and wiring out of it!

Good luck with that RCA. There's something very satisfying about restoring a set that's been given up for dead by any rational person.

Please grab that ctc19! Its the set in the last picture sitting face down with the woodgrain metal cabinet and black back metal cover! Those are hard to find, and I must have one! I'll pay shipping!
Thanks-Doug
Doug, I have a wooden floor model CTC19 cabinet you can have for cost of shipping. No tube or other electronics though. Maybe you can put that tube and chassis in it.

What chassis RCA is this? I have this as well as a white cased one. The white cased one has cataracts, but otherwise is in good condition. These are free if some one wants them, I am in central Texas.

I'd take one, but I'm on the other side of the country. I had the console version of this when I was a kid and wouldn't mind one again (only the table top version to save space). I remember it having a surprisingly good picture for a then 25 year old curb side pick up.

peverett, where are you in Texas? I am near Odessa. I might be interested in the set if you're not too far away.

Chad,

I sent you a PM about the CRT in that Truetone. Do you know the CRT number? I may have found another to help you out. I have ties to Texas and can get it back there. PEVERETT is near Austin.
