I bet you have loads of bad yellow or brown electrolytics in the vertical drive and output circuits, german capacitors just don't age well

also look for dry joints all over the chassis,

.wow wow wow beautiful TV set. I have two identical mod of saba.
TC 6761 telecommander L with only 8 channels in good condition and reviewed all, here are photos.
your model also existed in Italy is about 1977, the only defect of these tv set was that the guns of crt also remained stuck on a tv off, this is to have an immediate image when, but in doing so is the crt esaurivano soon and as saba at a cost around 530 euros (Over one million Lit) the holders will hungry and not buying more TV saba believing that they were bad equipment

That's the dreadful "instant on" feature, many US sets had it, but i think only Saba used it here in Europe...
Maybe that's why it's relatively rare to find European TVs with toast CRTs

either some telefunken model, for ex palcolor 854 it had two push button, one for power supply, other for "quick on" see the pics. you choose if make it on stand by ore power off completly. saba had a power push button inside ( litte rectangular red button). either other model tv set if you set on stand by the guns remains lit,

Australia adopted the same PAL B/G standard that was in use in many european countries at the time so they were a handy source of sets with the introduction of colour here in 1975. Unfortunately few of these early european sets survive as many succumbed to the harsh climate and poor parts support here. The Philips K9 chassis was one of the exceptions to this and it was a very popular chassis here that still turns up today occaisonally.

This set is a one owner set that was in regular use by its elderly owner till recently. Internally it is in excellent condition but has evidence of some repairs. The combined greyscale pot assembly has been replaced by the three trimpots on the rear of the right hand panel.

The set uses an early inline gun CRT (GTE Sylvania) and retains a simplified convergence panel that is acessed behind the upper front user panel. The horizontal scan circuits are a common european design of the time with the use of thyristors (SCR's) instead of transistors for the output stage. Nowadays this circuit design is a curiosity in itself.

Cinescopio de 27 pollici = 27-inch CRT (kinescope)? Is that right?

Interesting that they would give the CRT size in inches even in Europe.

yes, but the codes for most European tubes are in centimeters, for example, the Philips A66-500X has a 66 cm screen (26 inches)

[yes, I have always been measured so the TV SET even for those in B & W. such as gas pipes or water here in Italy is always measured in inches

I do not remember well, but I have replaced all electrolytic throughout the chassis, if anything is a matter of E / OW or some inductive regulator that does not work like once more
