NBC had a mail in poster promotion. Bonanza, Star Trek, Get Smart and Man From Uncle.

The Man From Uncle poster is the only one that has survived or that I could find ...

The actual poster has faded but through the magic of photo editing ...

Wow, thanks for posting that ad, Holst! And thanks for the cool retro thread, Snade. Yes, I, too, was swept up in the U.N.C.L.E. mania of the times. We had competing U.N.C.L.E. and T.H.R.U.S.H. clubs in elementary school. I was with the U.N.C.L.E. faction, and the leader of the T.H.R.U.S.H. side is now the Director of Central Operations for the Senate!

I loved the show too...of course everything was in B&W for me until the early 70's when we got our first color tv. I still have a complete collection of the books based on the show...right next to my collection of Peanuts books.

Right you are, the entire Season I DVD (the best season in black and white) is now available for 40 bucks from the TimeLife web site.

Other used DVD sellers are asking over 60 bucks for Season I, so they are hoping buyers are asleep at the switch and don't know you can buy it new directly from TimeLife for $40.

Cheers, Snade

I believe there were 2 working U.N.C.L.E. fully auto-capable guns made for the show. All the rest were replicas. I wonder who has them now? When they were built, the pair cost $5000 IIRC.

I had the posters, but the set was different than what you describe. My set had "I Spy", "Man From U.N.C.L.E.", "Bonanza" and another that I can't recall.

Oh my god! That brings back memories!!! I haven't seen that stuff in years! I liked the first season the best. I have a few shows I found on VHS.

My all-time favorite show was Mission Impossible. Love the theme song.
