Zero Hour, 1957.

This is the film that Airplane was based on, a lot of the scenes and dialog in Airplane were taken directly from this film, (the main character is named Ted Stryker) it was so familiar I couldn't help laughing.

No one spoke Jive however.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 it stunk. the special effects were good.. but the storyline was boring and slow. and disjointed. 90 minute movie would have been so much better than a 168 minute one.

Hollywood thinks that by making a longer movie some how it's going to be better. NOT!

I should have waited for this to come out on DVD.

Live Free or Die Hard

My wife and I saw Live Free or Die Hard in the theater last night. Park your brain at the door, sit back, and see plenty of thrills a minute action. Recommended for those seeking an action packed thriller.

It was a week ago but we saw Ratatouille and it was great we loved it.

We also saw Transformers on the 4th first thing in the morning at the local IMAX. The sound system is much better than the reg theatre.

Smokin Aces

Watched this last night and thought it was pretty good. Seeing Alicia Keys dressed like a high class hooker was a nice bonus too. Shes pretty hot. I also like the cartoon like bad guys. Plenty of blood and dead bodies to go around too.

Weather Man -- it was so miserably boring/boringly miserable that we couldn't finish it.

Volver -- amazing. Halfway through, and it didn't even matter how it ended. Just masterfully directed, and who knew Penélope Cruz could act? I thought she was just a pretty face, but there were no weak spots in the cast.

Volver is just amazing.I couldnt stand Penelope Cruz before that movie, and she turned me into a fan.Im always astounded by how Almodovar can combine humor, romance, and pathos, and even thriller elements into his films so seamlessly.Hes just a master.
He has a whole group of films that are wonderful:Women On the Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown,All About My Mother,Talk To Her,etc, etc.

Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix.I just saw it last night. Its on par with the others Ive seen. Not quite in the same league as Prisoner Of Azkaban, but if youre already a fan,its a worthy addition to the series.

"You Kill Me"-a very black comedy with Ben Kingsley and Tea Leoni. It was funny and involving. And so many fine performances.Everywhere you turn theres an actor that used to do good work, having a field day.
