This problem is kind of intermittant. It sometimes flashes from a WEAK signal filled with snow and bad sync, to a completely dark screen. The stronger signals are actually worse, almost as if the AGC is overloading.

Wouldn't a bad capacitor stay bad all the time?

Does anybody want the set if I can't fix it? Seems a shame to toss it.
