Thanks, you nailed it with re-soldering the MST.

For whatever reason when I put the MST back in and noticed many channels had woken up, I completely screwed up testing it.

When I plugged the cable back into the VCR I plugged into the "antenna in" port (I blame Panasonic for always locating the OUT on top, and JVC doing the opposite). UHF working great now too.

Anyway, I probably didn't make my best first impression, but thanks for your help!

These era RCAs are a staple of my childhood. They were everywhere including my our family TV, so I'm happy to have one to keep going.
