Metal-cone picture tubes

The cone of the CRT is metal to make it weight less than an all glass one. There is a HV lead with a little clip on the end that snaps on at the front rim.

Yes, it's all at high voltage! Don't get near them when the set is running.

Here's a 16EP4. The HV lead is the white wire running along the spring holding the front plastic ring on.


Sometimes they came with a little plastic "skirt" to provide a little protection from accidental contact.
