after much consideration I ended up transferring the original transformer to the new Jensen speaker. Sound is much clearer during a test sitting on my workbench.
Still lacking on bass but I haven't mounted it in the case yet, I am sure that will help.
The original transformer was heavier.
Thanks for all the advice and help!
