Yes, Zenith was one of the last hold outs when it came to using PC boards. I have a '67 Zenith solid state AM/FM clock radio in a white plastic cabinet and it's built on a metal chassis with socketed transistors. I think around '68 is when they started using PC board chassis in their radios but they were still made in Chicago. I have a cheapie '73 Zenith AM/FM clock radio that's Korean built. Zenith kept using a metal chassis for it's color TV's well into the '70's. One thing that's weird is that I have a Zenith clock radio from the mid-late '50's that's on a PC board chassis. I was not aware that Zenith used PC boards for tube chassis products as early as the '50's.
