Dumont-First with the finest in television.
A good vintage radio is great for shortwave listening and I don't just mean the boatanchor type. My Philco 37-610 tombstone gets great shortwave reception, has an accurate dial with fine tuning control, pleasant sound quality and looks good enough for my wife to let me keep it in the living room.

For portable use, I have three favorites: Kaito 1102, Sony 7600GR and Eton E10.
