I doubt it's a serious problem, but subtle video defects like that can be very difficult to track down. It might take more time to fix than it would be worth, but if you're attached to the set you can have it looked at.

lol, yeah it seems broken to me too. Its not that im attatched to the set really, i mean it was my grandfathers and all, but its not like he was particularly attatched to it either. I just took it so i wouldnt have to see it thrown out for no reason and it was free.

Seems to me your onto something, as the peaking controll did change it a bit, just seems like no matter what its too high.
What ill do is drop it off probably Thursday and talk to the guy at the shop, see what he has to say and go from there. Id be willing to pay more then the sat is worth (within reason) to get it fixed, casue i know its otherwise reliable.
Im open to any other ideas as to what might be wrong...thanks to all who've helped so far!
