Quasar Solid State Color TV

Model WT5972TP, Chassis MTS977, CRT# 19VJTP22, Manufactured June 1981.

The set is operational, but i need some help. I am running an s-video connection through the video card of my pc to a Magnavox DVD recorder, then outputting a 75-ohm coax cable from the recorder to the back of the Quasar, for monitoring purposes. The signal quality is fine, but the lately the color is too brownish, and a little washed out. Regular Cable TV is the same, so I ruled out the pc/dvd setup. I adjusted the RGB controls and drives for a nice picture but the background is too dull brown. Also, the only customer controls for brightness are 'Personal touch' for soft to vivid (just a contrast control); and "Bright" which is best set at zero. Why is this? If i turn up this "bright" the pix is just more white and washed out. Is the tubes shot? I don't think so because the colors are all strong and brightness is good, cept for the dark brown tint.
