Glad you took the prize Dave. Maybe I’ll use the six bucks to help finance a trip to the Borgata buffet in AC.

Sometime soon after the PortaColor was introduced, I told my (then friendly) in-laws about it, and they got one of the original tube sets. It served them well into the seventies, replaced finally with a 13-in. Zenith. As you say, up close, the screen was anything but sharp, but from a couple of feet away, the course dot-pitch CRT morphed into a beaut of a color picture.
