Hi everyone.
It's nice to see others out there who make an effort to keep old tech running. I sometimes get the same feeling the dinosaurs probably had. My current project is for a friend who has an RCA PFR100WRC Front Projection set. I have found a service manual online for an RCA PFR100 and was wondering if that manual covers the "WRC" models as well. Thought I'd check before ordering the PDF. I have tried to source out info on the model number variations, but there is little info out there, as I am sure everyone here has experienced. The issue he is having is that the set blows the main fuse after a few seconds. He sometimes sees a slight "flick" on the screen before the fuse pops. Prior to problem the set worked perfectly. I'm thinking bad caps as a starting point. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, - Techowl - p.s. The PDF manual I am looking at buying is from servicemanuals.net and is called "Technical Familiarization". The demo 1st page has a stamp on it that says Bruno-NY Training Center, 849 Harrison Ave., Kearny, NJ, 07032 Last edited by Techowl; 07-12-2019 at 04:03 PM. Reason: A little more info on the PDF |
