1970s Zenith Chromacolor II Television

Hello, when I was younger I remember my grandparents having a mid-1970s vintage Chromacolor II Console TV in their bedroom (which actually used to be my uncle's bedroom when he was younger) and anyways I was monkeying around with the TV one day and went to turn it on to see if it worked or not and sure enough it turned on and had picture but the picture wasn't in color, it was in Black and White with some red fringes on the edges of the picture, and I tried to see if I could fix it but with very little success (I never had the right tools with me) I had always thought that maybe the problem with the TV was that the Red Green and Blue color adjustments on the back of the TV was what was wrong with the TV but I'm guessing it was more than just that.

Of course the TV is long gone now as the part of the house that the TV was sitting in was torn down and burried already by my uncle (the one who's room the TV was in.)

I'm just kind of curious as to what may have been wrong with the TV and if the TV would of been worth saving had it not been crushed in the house when it was torn down.
