Given a U certificate on first release it was withdrawn and next shown with an A certificate. 7 years old when I first saw it. Kept me (and my parents) awake for several nights. An invisible monster climbing the stairs to pull you apart.

Awesome film. Special effects exceptional, especially where the 'thing' is coming through the force field. I think this scene was drawn frame by frame by Disney artists.

Years ahead of its time; alter the 3D alignment of a model spaceship and the real one moves with it.
