That looks just like the US Holiday model. Mine was transported in one piece, upright in the passenger seat of a pickup without harm.
As Eric wrote, the CRT base is metal and fairly sturdy. If you really feel the need, the top does come off but you'll need some tools. First, take the back off and slide the chassis until you can reach the CRT cables. Two bundled cables pull out of chassis sockets. Another is a single wire for the video signal and pulls off a PCB stake. The final one is the HV anode lead. That's a bit tricky. You need to pop the top off the flyback cage and carefully pull the 1B3 rectifier tube up out of it's socket a bit. That will expose the anode lead and allow you to pull it out. Finally, remove the screw on the CRT base and gently pull the CRT off the chassis.
