Toshiba's famous 30-month (2 1/2 year) warranty: Was this the longest available?

Toshiba once offered a standard 30-month (2 1/2 year) labor and part warranty on all televisions made in the 70s and 80s, according to a magazine ad I found on eBay. Is this true? Was Toshiba's TV warranty the longest in the industry?

Did Toshiba's "Cool-R-Power" chassis really run cool and last very long, or was this a marketing gimmick? What were the common problems you found when customers brought in the "Cool-R-Power" chassis to you back then?
