1986 NAP/Montgomery Ward Console

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine gave me this set as it just sat in his basement. This is a 25-inch GNB174.18B with MTS stereo and it lacked video inputs. Though it does have an audio input can be switched to supplement the mono RF source, which is interesting.

This set does have a tuner issue (no reception on a direct feed and an odd, drift to gray condition noted in the photos). Was this a common occurrence with Magnavox/NAP sets of the mid-1980s? (I know, the wood-styled plastic bezel was a common occurrence too. )
