1988 Symphonic 19-TR TV/VCR combo: Funai's first TV/VCR combo but with no power...
I obtained Funai's first TV/VCR combo ever made and was lucky to get the 19" size (largest-sized). The TV apparently has no power to turn on, but the CRT monitor power switch light does light on. The VCR works fine and there is power, and I already took the whole day to fully restore it. Just put in new belts and she's ready to run for many years. When I tested the TV at the seller's place, TV worked fine but would shut off because of bad belts with a tape stuck in there. Now it does not turn on at all, even with new belts. If anyone is familiar with late-80s Funai TV chassis, what problem would it be?
This one has a Philips CRT. Is it any good? TV is assembled in USA (probably by Philips for Funai).
I like the VCR chassis but don't like the TV chassis at all (too cheaply made). As time goes by, Funai VCR chassis had become worse than their TV chassis by the late 90s.
