OK I Promise to stop whining soon

It looks like this digital "upgrade" is going to happen, the FCC has already auctioned off frequency blocks. One last question, What are folks like myself who live in Florida, Lousiana, Texas, and most of the eastern seaboard supposed to do when the weeks and months after a hurricane and there is no power and our battery powered sets get nothing. I could hook it to an A to D converter box but without power to run it you will have hundreds of thousands with portable TV with boxes of new batteries that won't work. BACKWARD COMPATIBLE, IT SHOULD STILL BE THE LAW!
