Which TV to keep?

Hi guys,

My parents are selling there house in Maine and I have two TVs that I have to make a decesion on to keep.

My dads 1954 Philco 21inch tabletop TV, basic black cabinet. 22BU4001. It has a strong CRT. This TV was my first attempt at TV repair when I was in 8th grade(1996). I had help via someone on the internet giving me electronic advise and safety hints for not electrocuting myself! It has sync issues that I know with my current knowledge I could fix. Its more sentimental than anything, and I know I could use the CRT in another console I have to.

The other TV is quite rare. A Dumont RA-105 Colony Console. It is quite unfinished, with its electronics being such a challenging project at such a young age. I had to have the person helping me on the internet fabricate a new function selector switch. Re-installing that became too overwhelming.

The CRT is possibly dead being an origional Dumont 15AP4. Nearly unobtanium. It has vacuum, and could possibly be restored with my Beltron. It is 3000 miles away though and testing it would be years from now.

This decision has to be made soon, and I never expected to have to make a choice. More sentimental Philco with a good CRT, but super basic cabintry? Or quite rare(especially the 15AP4) with the completing of the restoration later?

I've never had to make a choice like this, these TV's being both special to me in there own way.

Any advise or comments of similar situations are very welcome.
Thank you,
Matt Davala
