Desperate Man Blues

About a month ago, my sister-in-law told me about a movie that she thought I would really enjoy. It sounded right down my alley and ordered it up through Net Flix. It finally arrived Saturday and watched it last night.

Desperate Man Blues

Desperate Man Blues is an outstanding documentary about Archivist and record collector Joe Bussard. Joe began collecting Blues and Jazz 78’s in the 50’s and has the most comprehensive collection out there by all accounts. According to Joe, everything when to crap musically after the 40’s and Jazz when with it. I don’t know if I agree with him on that point but he sure is one interesting cat and his collection is incredible.

This was one great documentary and I think it would be interesting for non-music fans also.

Check out ALL the special features on the DVD also. They were just as fun and interesting as the film itself. Check this out even if roots Blues and Jazz isn’t your thing.
