Canadian TV sets in Hairspray

Has anyone else spotted the Canadian made televisions in the movie
Hairspray? This is not surprising when you know that most of the
production work was done in Toronto. I saw at least two Electrohomes
(including a 1960 Tampico 21-inch just like the one I own and a similar
looking set with a larger screen), as well as a Fleetwood (I do not know
those so well).

Funny that they would spend such big money on a film and include
TV sets that were so much unlikely to be found in Baltimore. Also,
I would expect U.S. made TVs to be much more commonly available,
but maybe they just wanted to save some insurance/customs/
transportation worries... Any comments appreciated, this is my first
post after I introduced myself a few weeks ago.
