What to do?

Just picked up a couple of vintage sets: A 10" RCA 8-T-somethingorother and a 7" Admiral. The RCA is complete except for the channel indicator ring, the Admiral complete except for the back. However...the Admiral is missing a triangular chunk of Bakelite about 5X6X7 at the back of one side extending a little bit into the bottom of the case. Is this repairable or would the set better serve as a donor chassis for another Admiral? Haven't had a chance to check the CRT, however the old fella I got them from said they both worked...30+ years ago. Any suggestions?
