That is a great set. It looks to be well worth a new CRT especially with that wood cabinet and great Seventies styling. As for the small chassis, I remember working on a Sears set in the early 1980s with a similar chassis. The set was a 19" color in a metal cabinet with mechanical tuners. The chassis consisted of two small circuit boards, one mounted horizontally, one mounted vertically on a metal frame. It was a very simple set, easy to service and had a great color picture. There is a lot to be said for simple designs.
