is 4 and 5 used over the air there?
if so its a leak. the air signal is out of phase with the cable and you get both together which causes a ghost/screendoor effect . common on 2/7 here in dayton. look for bad cable open grounds bad connections ect.. or just call the cable guy out.

A friend of mine's cable reception went in the crapper, cable guy came out and found that the ground connection at the junction box on the outside of the house had gone bad. Cleaned it up and reconnected it and the signal came back sharp as ever.

no, 4 and 5 come in on cable. comcast friggin' unbelievably expensive cable, w/two ghost-y channels, and the others clean and clear. and the other TV on the same external junction box clean all the way through. if it were at the junction, every TV would have the same problem, no?
more suggestions? i and i tinkin' i don't wanna kill 1/2 a day waiting for the cable guy |

well..... I have one bad feed in my house. The cable is good on 2 of the sets, on the other I get all kinds of interferrence. Try it at another connection in your house. It could just be the wire from your outlet to the set. When my set was bad, the cable guy came out and it was just the connection end on the cable. Also, try a VCR or DVD player itself (no cable hooked up) and see what your set does. If it works on Channel 3 or 4, it's your cable.....
