Anyone familiar with JC Penney know what TV this is?

Anyone familiar with JC Penney know what brand TV this is? And also, it looks like a vcr underneath the tv or possibly built into the tv? I know it's a long shot but figured I'd post and see if anyone knows. This is from a 1990 fall/winter JC Penney catalog. Thanks!
Here is a link to some bigger photos also.... https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...sKXP8LjhgaKWAX

JC Penny sold house brand stuff made by OEMs. It doesn't have to be some other brand in that photo, it's probably just a JC Penny special.

There could be an OEM equivalent model, like maybe a Mitsubishi or Sanyo or some other common OEM brand from that time that reused designed between contracts, but you would be asking people to do some major pre-internet cross-referencing mental gymnastics to actually be able to pick that out. For all intents and purposes, it's exactly as you see it in the advert.

Hi and thank you. Yeah I've been searching the internet the last few days trying to match something close to the picture. I haven't found anything so far. I was just posting here to see if anyone may recognize it. It's a nice looking setup from back then.

Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Goldstar and Samsung did a lot of OEMs for US department stores at that time. They would sometimes use multiple manufacturers across a product line, and the cases would look outwardly similar.

Best way to find out who might be under the hood is to open the case.

Looks like a Sanyo/Fisher-type setup, although maybe Gold Star or Samsung. We're definitely closer to the Soundesign end of the spectrum than the RCA Dimensia end.

Yeah, Sanyo is the first thing that popped into my head based on the plastic, but it could be something else. 1990 is kind of on the cusp of a lot of those OEMs crapping out black plastic in equal measures.

Thank you! I'm still searching when I can. It's driving me crazy not being able to at least find an old photo that matches. The thrill of the hunt I guess? Lol.
