1989 RCA Console Set
I have in my collection of Console TVs an 89 RCA Console. It has the CTC149C Chassis in it. The last time I used the TV which was a year ago it came on and worked fine. Today, I drug it out plugged it and the Set is completely dead. I looked and the fuse seems to be not blown. Does anyone have any advice on where to start looking as the source of the problem.
Now that I think about it I think this set when it was cold it would have the picture on the screen out of portion in size. However, after a little bit of time it would go to the normal size picture for the screen. I think I was told this was a cap going bad? Thanks. |

check your b+ filter cap in power supply. there's also a regulator in p.s that would go bad. there's a rule of thumb if picture shrunk in check filter cap and p.s component's, if picture is bloomed out could be low b+ check the same. start there

Can you post a chassis photo ? The chassis number is GREAT but I am
pushing 70 yrs old & have a hard time relating to them now unless they are VERY old ! Stay young as long as you can ![]() Zeno
