Really cool Silvertone for Christmas

My son and his wife gifted me a very cool Silvertone for Christmas. Chassis number 478.253-1. 10" Bakelite. Haven't seen this one before. The Cabinet is in excellent condition. The CRT is a little weak but could be watchable.

That is a very nice one.
It's similar to the Tele-Tone TV-255, I don't know if Tele-Tone made them for Sears or someone like W-G made them?

That's very interesting ! My son and I were looking inside the cabinet last night and saw some holes in the inside front that didn't show on the outside. I can see that that's were the knobs or lights are on your set, so yes I would bet they were made by the same company. I'll post more detailed pic in a day or two.

The Silvertone badge on yours is probably covering up a hole, mine has the same hole where either the Tele-Tone badge should be or the (optional?) internal antenna adjuster.

I love Bakelite sets, the smooth precision molding is really amazing.

BTW, this thread probably should be in Early B&W, would you like me to move it for you?
